At Kaxite Sealing, we understand that the integrity of industrial operations depends on the reliability of every sealing component. Braided Packing is one of the most versatile sealing solutions for pumps, valves, mixers, agitators and other rotating or reciprocating equipment. For more than two decades, our engineering team has focused on designing and manufacturing sealing products that perform reliably in chemical processing, power generation, marine, pharmaceutical and food industries.
It is a mechanical seal constructed by intertwining strands of material such as PTFE, graphite, aramid fiber or fiberglass around a reinforcing core. The braiding technique creates a dense, pliable and resilient seal that can be compressed inside a stuffing box to prevent leakage of fluids, gases or slurries.
Kaxite Sealing is not just a supplier — we deliver engineered sealing solutions. Our team analyzes your operating conditions (media, temperature, pressure, pH, shaft speed and equipment type) and recommends the optimal configuration.
Our Braided Packing line is categorized by core material and braid construction. Below are the flagship series:
Ideal for aggressive chemicals and high-purity applications. Excellent corrosion resistance and low coefficient of friction.
Designed for extreme temperatures and high-pressure steam service. Superior thermal conductivity and resilience.
Excellent balance of strength and thermal resistance for general-purpose and abrasive service.

Kaxite Sealing Braided Packing is used in demanding environments where reliability and chemical compatibility are critical:
Our core strength lies in developing custom sealing solutions for unique or extreme applications. We provide:
Selection requires evaluating the sealed media, operating temperature and pressure, shaft or stem speed (RPM), and equipment type. Always consult the equipment manual for OEM specifications and cross-reference with material compatibility charts. Kaxite Sealing provides detailed selection guides and technical support to help you make the optimal choice.
Clean the stuffing box thoroughly and remove all old packing. Measure the shaft/stem diameter and stuffing box bore to determine the correct cross-section. Cut individual rings on a mandrel at a 45-degree angle — never wrap packing around the shaft. Stagger ring joints by 90 degrees, compress each ring gently with a follower, and tighten gland nuts finger-tight. Run in for 15-30 minutes, then adjust to achieve slight leakage for lubrication (unless sealing hazardous or valuable media).
Overheating usually indicates over-tightening of the gland, which creates excessive friction, rapid wear and shaft scoring. Excessive leakage means the packing is under-compressed or worn. Follow the run-in procedure and gradually tighten the gland in small increments (e.g., 1/6th of a turn) until the desired leakage rate is reached.
Yes, but the braid style and material should be chosen accordingly. For rotary motion (pump shafts), square or twisted braid provides good radial stability. For reciprocating motion (valve stems, plungers), plait braid or lapped style handles back-and-forth movement with less friction and wear.
Braided packing is generally more cost-effective for initial installation and repair, tolerates more shaft movement or misalignment, and can be adjusted in the field. Mechanical seals offer longer-term, near-zero leakage on high-speed equipment but at higher cost and with less tolerance for runout. Kaxite Sealing offers both solutions and can advise on the most cost-effective option.
Signs include persistent leakage that cannot be controlled by gland adjustment, visible deterioration or extrusion of the material, increased gland operating temperature, or reduced equipment efficiency. Proactive maintenance based on operating hours or manufacturer service intervals is always preferable to failure-based maintenance.
